Cake delivery: Emergency kit and helpful tips
Put together your own cake delivery kit and you’ll be able to handle any emergency during the delivery or at the venue.
In this video, I will show what I have in my Emergency Cake Delivery Kit.
Have you ever had a scary delivery? I think most of us can answer “yes” to that question! And I want to share my experience and hopefully make that delivery a little less intimidating.
I always take my cake delivery kit with me. I’ve never needed to rebuild the cake or make any major fixes, but defiantly had my fair share of broken flowers, poked cakes, and smudged colors.
So how I deliver my cakes?
I’ve invested in a CakeSafe a long time ago and it is already paid for itself in the cost of cardboard boxes! CakeSafe is an amazing delivery system, that makes driving with a cake so much easier. I place the CakeSafe in the trunk of my car and fix it using cargo organizer blocks.
During hot summer days, I turn on AC and cool down the car before bringing the cake. I prefer to deliver fully stacked and assembled cakes to save time and stress at a venue.
For the flowers: most of my flowers for cakes are delivered in a separate container surrounded by packing peanuts and tissue to protect them. Here is how I pack my flowers for delivery.
What have you found to be useful when delivering? Do you include anything different in your emergency kit?
