So, how to wrap cakes in wafer paper?
- Measure your wafer paper to the size of the cake
- Use piping gel or wafer paper glue to create a longer piece of wafer paper
- Color wafer paper with powder colors. Use lighter shades to blend colors
- Apply a thin layer of piping gel or glucose syrup to the back side of your wafer paper wrap
- Stick wafer paper to the cake, carefully lining the seams
- Wrap your cake in a piece of wax paper and fix it with painters tape to help your wafer paper stay in place
- Let your cake dry for 10 – 15 minutes and decorate with nonpareils
