How to Create a Fantasy Wafer Paper Flower
Step 1: Prepare Your Petals
Start by downloading and printing the Fantasy flower template. If you do not have it, try sketching the petal shapes on a piece of paper and using that instead.
Trace the template onto the wafer paper and cut out five small petals and four large petals.
Cut a small slit at the base of each petal, about one-third of the way up.
Step 2: Make the Flower Center
Stick a Haribo berry candy onto a toothpick, ensuring it’s secure.
Step 3: Shape the Petals
Apply piping gel to the base of each petal, at the slit. Overlap the edges of the slit to create a cupped shape, pressing gently to secure.
For added dimension, use a paintbrush to curl the petal edges outward.
Step 4: Assemble the Flower
Starting with the small petals, pierce each one onto the toothpick and secure it to the berry with piping gel, forming a five-petal flower.
Repeat the process with the larger petals, layering them around the smaller petals to create a full bloom.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Adjust the petals as needed to achieve a natural, symmetrical look.
And there you have it—a beautiful, completely edible fantasy flower ready to adorn your cakes!
