How to Create Wafer Paper 3D Spheres – Step-by-step
Step 1: Prepare Your Wafer Paper Shapes
Begin by cutting your wafer paper into the shapes you’ll need for the spheres. You can use a template, or simply cut freehand. Fold the wafer paper to create the folds needed for the sphere design.
Step 2: Shape and Connect the Pieces
Take up to three shapes and gently press them together using a bit of water. This will create a solid structure for the sphere. Press them down on a foam pad to help with the shaping.
Step 3: Shape the Spheres
Once the pieces are dry, use a Dresden tool or your fingers to gently separate the layers of wafer paper to give the sphere texture and dimension.
Step 4: Assemble the Sphere
Once you have your layers ready, use water to attach them together, creating a full 3D sphere. You can add more layers to make the design fuller and more dimensional.
Step 5: Attach to Cake
