In this video, I’m sharing one of the easiest ways to color wafer paper and create Wafer Paper Fan Cake Topper.
So, if you’re looking for ways to fancy up your cake designs, but have no time and a very limited budget – this tutorial is for you! Wafer Paper fan topper is easy to make and gives you endless color and embellishment possibilities.
You will need wafer paper, petal dusts of your choice, and a steamer or a pot of boiling water. And I’ll show you how to apply edible glitter and silver leaf to your wafer paper decorations.
You will need:
- Wafer Paper (I use 0.27mm, but any thin wafer paper would work, even if it’s dry).
- Color of your choice (I use petal dust, but you can airbrush wafer paper prior to shaping)
- Piping gel
- Mini steamer (optional, but helps with softening and shaping wafer paper). I used this one.
- Any decorations you want to add
These decorations are fully edible and could be put on buttercream, ganache, or fondant. To assemble and create this layered look, use piping gel or melted white chocolate. It comes together in minutes without any special tools or equipment.
Hope you give it a try and share on social media! I’m excited to see your cake.
